Join us to meet this exciting new fantasy author.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Britta Jensen&#8217;s debut YA novel <em>Eloia Born<\/em> <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/www.lonestarliterary.com\/content\/writers%E2%80%99-league-texas-announces-2019-book-awards-winners\" target=\"_blank\">won the 2019 Writer&#8217;s League of Texas YA Discovery Prize<\/a> and was long-listed for the Exeter Novel Prize. Reviewers are calling the book &#8220;both a dystopian narrative and a quest story; consider it a spiritual successor to Lois Lowry&#8217;s <em>The Giver<\/em> and M. Night Shyamalan&#8217;s <em>The Village<\/em>.&#8221; The sequel, <em>Hirana&#8217;s War<\/em>, was released October 1, 2020. Her novella, <em>Ghosts of Yokosuka<\/em>, was released this past April. Many of her stories explore themes of persevering through disability, parental separation and the intersection of various cultures on new worlds. She earned a BA in Acting Performance from Fordham University and an MA in Teaching of English Literature from Columbia University. She edits books with The Writing Consultancy and Yellow Bird Editors as well as teaching composition at St Edwards University.
