WHAT IS ARMADILLOCON?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON is one of the longest-running community events in Austin. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s a fan-run, fan-generated convention celebrating Science Fiction, Fantasy, Horror and other Weird stories and art. We’ve been helping put the Weird in Austin reading and writing since 1979.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This year’s convention will include over 200 events for fans and writers – interviews, panel discussions, readings, scheduled gaming, signings, maker sessions, the Meet the Pros Party, a legendary Bar Con, the Writers’ Workshop for new and developing writers, a Screenwriting Workshop, an Art Show, a Dealers’ Room where you can shop and talk to other fans, and more!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHEN AND WHERE IS ARMADILLOCON?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON will be held September 12-14, 2025, returning to the Austin Southpark Hotel\u2013 an Austin classic venue with an over 40-year history.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHEN AND WHERE CAN I GET A BADGE?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Regular ARMADILLOCON membership badges<\/a> are available now online!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON WRITERS’ WORKSHOP<\/a> memberships are also available online!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHEN DOES THE EVENT START AND END?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON programming will take place from approximately 4 PM – 11 PM on Friday, 10 AM to 11 PM on Saturday, and 10 AM to 4 PM on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The ARMADILLOCON WRITERS’ WORKSHOP will take place during the day on Friday, starting at 9 AM and ending at about 4 PM.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A detailed schedule will be released later.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

SHOULD I RECEIVE AN EMAIL CONFIRMING MY BADGE PURCHASE?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

I WANT TO GIVE MY TICKET TO SOMEONE ELSE, HOW DO I DO THAT?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

If you cannot attend and want to give your ticket to someone else, please contact us<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CAN I LEAVE ARMADILLOCON ONCE I ENTER?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

Yes. Just keep your badge. You need to be wearing your badge when you are participating in ArmadilloCon events.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARE THERE ANY AGE RESTRICTIONS?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON is an ALL AGES event. Some panel discussions might not be appropriate for all ages and families, though. Parental discretion is advised.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON includes a MEET THE PROS PARTY on Friday night. That will include a cash bar with both alcoholic and nonalcoholic options. Be prepared to show ID if you plan to purchase and consume alcohol.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

ARMADILLOCON is also known for its BAR CON\u2013 people gathering to socialize at the Southpark’s bar area. The socializing is great, no drink required. Be prepared to show ID if you plan to purchase and consume alcohol. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

WHERE CAN I PARK?<\/h5>\n\n\n\n

The Austin Southpark does not currently charge for day parking.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you book as part of the ARMADILLOCON room block, overnight parking is included as part of that rate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
